power management

Minimize restart after automatic update from Windows Update
Power

Management

In each version of Windows,

Microsoft

is trying to improve power management. However, significant progress in recent years have been developed by the hardware industry, in particular, battery makers. But Windows 8 comes with a new and promising concept that is known from smartphones. Apps in the background are suspended, which consumes more energy. This feature only works for underground applications and not for legacy applications from Windows desktop.
Build an intelligent power general purpose Windows
Updated tile live without draining your battery
Improve power efficiency for applications
New Task Manager
The new Task Manager in

Windows 8

is nice, but I guess most IT pros will just enjoy it considering that free tools like Process Explorer and Process Hacker have much more to offer. However, whenever you need to troubleshoot a Windows machine and you do not bring your toolbox, you'll like the new features such as resource use light-ups, the type of group processes (applications, background processes, processes Windows), user-friendly names for the background process, and the windows grouping top-level application. Interesting for server admins is the heat map new generation of logical processors.
